About Us
We are proud of our contributions to the lives of our clients and their
families. What an opportunity we have to make a difference in others’ lives
each and every day. Not only do we help mend and rebuild our clients’
lives - to the extent that fair and adequate compensation can do so - but
also, streets, highways, workplaces, homes and hospitals are safer because
of our efforts.
Our society is one of law and order. Justice requires that innocent people
who have been terribly wronged by another’s carelessness or indifference
are entitled to fair, and in some cases substantial, compensation. Those
individuals, companies, institutions or government agencies admitting or
being found liable are held accountable. In most cases, the wrongdoer will
then reform its conduct to avoid future liability.
Law Offices of Barry W. Vermeeren’s record of success helps our
clients in two ways: first, we know we can take on large insurance
companies and prevail in court; second, we are able to negotiate fair and
adequate settlements.
Check out how we attack a case the moment the client gives us the green
light, our philosophy of building the case brick by brick, and our record of
successes. You will see we have what it takes - a passion for justice.
Some typical P.I. Cases include:
- Vehicle accidents (car, truck or motorcycle accidents);
- Medical malpractice (injuries caused by a health care provider or
medical product);
- Product liability (accidents caused by defective or dangerous products
such as power tools or household chemicals);
- Premises liability (injuries occurring on home or business property);
- Recreational accidents (bicycle, boat and snowmobile accidents, sports
or hunting accidents);
- Construction site accidents;
- Aviation accidents;
- Animal bites, and
- Many others.
Feel free to contact us for a review of your case, all without cost or
obligation.
Our Personal Injury Attorneys can help:
- Guide you through the complexities and deadlines of filing your claim;
- Oversee all investigations to learn as much as possible about your case;
- Initiate legal research, using our own law library and computerized
databases to make sure all applicable laws and court decisions have
been considered;
- Hire technical and medical experts to consult on your case and present
evidence at trial;
- Handle all discovery proceedings, including depositions; and
- Protect your rights in settlement negotiations or, if necessary, at trial
and appeal.
How much does it cost to hire a Personal Injury Attorney?
There are no fees to be paid unless we recover money for you. No attorney
fees and no costs of any nature.
Personal injury cases are taken on a contingency fee basis. That means that
the costs of preparing a case (including filing fees, investigation, expert
witnesses, attorney fees, etc.) are not collected until the case is
completed. And then, only if we win the case. If there is no recovery we
absorb all expenses – including attorney fees.
Attorney fees are calculated as a percentage of the final award, normally
one-third of the total.
By accepting the up-front financial burden that comes with the contingency
fee arrangement, we can help people who otherwise would not have the
resources necessary to take on big corporations, insurance companies and
their law firms.
